Tottenham in talks to sign Holtby in January

Spurs have already reached an agreement to sign the Schalke star in June, but Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bolster his squad during January following an injury to Sandro.

The German playmaker has penned a pre-contract agreement to move to Spurs on a free transfer when his contract with the Bundesliga side expires at the end of the season, but the Londoners are now looking to push through a deal worth around £1.6 million this month.

Liverpool boss Rodgers slams 'unacceptable' Suarez diving comments

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has slammed Luis Suarez’s “unacceptable” comments on diving, declaring that the club will deal with the matter internally.

The striker admitted that he had “invented a foul” against Stoke City with the scores level at 1-1 in a game they went on to lose 3-1 but added that the media make things up about him to sell papers.

However, Rodgers has deemed these comments inappropriate, stating that the diving is not in line with the club’s ethics and that Suarez has apologised “numerous times”. (more…)

Klopp saw the Netherlands international live in action during BVB’s Champions League encounters with Arsenal last season, and he was thoroughly impressed with the former Feyenoord star’s performance.

“Personally, when we played against Arsenal in London, I saw the best forward ever: Robin van Persie,” the Dortmund coach told

“I didn’t know a player could play three positions during 90 minutes. It was a great experience – and we want to use that now.”

The Uruguyan international has notched 16 goals in just 17 Serie A appearances so far this season, and has added a further nine in seven domestic and European cup games to take his tally to 25 goals in 24 outings.

Manchester City assistant Angelo Gregucci has previously revealed the Premier League champions’ interest in Cavani, but this marks Wenger’s first public acknowledgement of the forward.

“Cavani is a player that I like. What is for sure is that he costs a lot of money,” Wenger told reporters.
