Piazon at ease with Kaka comparisons

Lucas Piazon says he is comfortable with being compared to fellow Brazilian Kaka.

The 18-year-old previously played for Sao Paulo, the same side at which the Real Madrid midfielder began his sparkling career and it is this similarity the Chelsea prospect believes is behind the comparison.

“It’s normal that they compare me with him because I played in the city of Sao Paulo and Kaka did too. The press say that I am the new Kaka or the new Robinho and for me that’s fine,” he told reporters at a press conference.

Fletcher crucial for Scotland – Strachan

The Manchester United midfielder has suffered from a chronic bowel complaint which has kept him out for the best part of two years and has undergone surgery in a bid to finally clear the illness for good.

In a statement issued by the Scottish FA, Strachan said: “On behalf of the Scotland supporters, the national squad and backroom team, I wish Darren the best of luck in his recovery from the surgery that has been confirmed by his club.

“I spoke with Darren on Tuesday and know that the decision to have the operation has been taken in the interests of his long-term health and with the full backing of the medical staff at Manchester United. (more…)

Former FA Cup-winning captain Kevin Ratcliffe reckons Phil Jagielka could become permanent skipper at Everton.

The 52-year-old feels the former Sheffield United defender has what it takes to become the next leader of the Toffees after Jagielka deputised for Phil Neville earlier on in the season.

He told the club’s official website: “He certainly fits the bill to be a future captain.
